In our work together, we create space to sort through the emotions, make sense of what happened, and begin rebuilding a sense of stability and self trust. My focus is on helping you feel supported as you heal, gain clarity, and slowly move forward in a way that feels right for you. I'll be with you throughout the journey, so you'll never be alone.

Starting Over

Does Any of these Relationship Issues Resonate with You?

“I can’t stop thinking about my ex.”

“I was so blindsided by this betrayal that I don’t know how to move on.”

“I thought we’d be together forever.”

“I never thought I’d be involved in an affair. I need help figuring out how I feel and what I want.”

“I feel rejected and discarded by my ex.”

“Im functioning on the outside but falling apart internally.”

“I need help moving forward.”

“I don’t feel like I’ll ever get over this devastation I feel.”

If any of these statements feel familiar, you are not alone. When a relationship becomes painful, uncertain, or ends through divorce or betrayal, it can shake your sense of safety, identity, and direction in life. It's common to feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what comes next. In our work together, we make space for all of that by gently sorting through the pain, honoring what you've been through, and helping you begin to feel more grounded, supported and connected to yourself again as you move forward.

I promise things will get easier.

I will be with you along the way, offering steady support, guidance and tools, as you move through the pain.

MY APPROACH

A supportive space to explore your story, regulate emotions, and create lasting change.

My approach is Client Centered, which means I truly believe you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to provide a supportive space where you can access your own insights, strengths, and capacity to change.

I believe therapy should feel like a place you want to come, not just a place you go because you have to. I've intentionally created a warm, calming environment with soothing aesthetics, so that you feel safe, grounded, and at ease from the moment you walk in.

The space is designed to support nervous system regulation and emotional openness. When your body feels more settled, it becomes easier to reflect, process, and speak honestly. My goal is for therapy to feel like a steady, calm, welcoming space where you can exhale, bring your authentic self, and do meaningful work without judgment.

Psychotherapist licensed in MD & VA

Hi, I’m Nicole Beane, LCSW-C. I’m a psychotherapist with 25 years of experience supporting young adults and adults through life’s most difficult relationship challenges.

Clients describe me as warm, supportive, and easy to talk to. I value the trust you place in me, and show up with care, presence, and intention in every session.

Raised in Montgomery County, MD, I understand the pressure to succeed and the emotional toll of navigating relationships in high-stress environments. I help people work through painful divorces, break-ups, affair ambivalence, family conflict, and painful relationship patterns that feel hard to change.

I also support people through major life transitions that can affect their emotional well-being as well as trigger anxiety and depression that can feel completely overwhelming.

Relationships shape how you see yourself and how safe you feel in the world. When connection feels strained, confusing, or lonely, therapy offers space to heal, rebuild, and move forward with clarity.

Just reach out because I'm here to help You.

A Safe Space for Healing & Growth

My work is grounded in deep compassion, curiosity, and the belief that it’s never too late to grow in understanding and connection. When you’re in therapy with me, I want you to feel seen, heard, and deserving of a good life.

You can bring your deepest struggles to our sessions, and we’ll hold them with care together, one step at a time.

It's okay to ask for help – you don't have to carry your pain on your own.

TECHNIQUES I USE

A thoughtful blend of proven techniques to support healing, insight, and change.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Somatic (body) approaches & Mindfulness based practices.

I am proudly certified in Emotional Freedom Technique (or “tapping”). It involves gently tapping on specific acupressure points while focusing on difficult emotions, memories or beliefs.

I am also certified in Attachment Trauma which focuses on different attachment patterns and working with attachment wounds from early caregivers. Attachment therapy helps people understand why relationships feel so intense, scary, distant or overwhelming without shame or blame as they were protective and adaptive responses at one time in your life. Additionally, I am trained and certified in Personality Disorders and can help when a person is in a relationship with someone who shows narcissistic or borderline traits and how to address. them.

These approaches allow us to explore not only what is happening in your relationships, but why. Together, we'll uncover the patterns that shape how you connect, understand the deeper roots of your emotional responses, and clarify what you truly need and deserve in your relationships.

I also help you develop practical tools to regulate emotions, respond rather than react, and communicate more effectively, so your relationships feel more grounded, secure, and aligned with who you are.
